Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • U.S. equivalent Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science with strong background in genomic analysis.
  • Experience in advanced DNA-seq and RNA-seq analysis, with innovative thinking. The candidate must be a fast learner and self-motivated.
  • Working with clinicians and biologists in the COH cancer center and therefore the candidate should have strong communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of statistical analysis methods and models, mathematical and computational algorithm, such as machine learning algorithms. 
  • Experience with genomic data integration and data mining
  • Proficient in R/Bioconductor programming
  • Experience working with NGS data, such as RNA-seq, WGS, and whole exome-seq from Illumina NovaSeq/ miSeq and/or PacBio SMRT sequencing
  • Experience with methyl-seq and ChIP-seq data is a plus
  • Familiar with at least one programming languages, such as R/Perl/Python/JAVA/C++ with R or Python preferred
  • Familiar with Biological databases, such as GEO and TCGA
  • Familiar with open source and commercial software tools for genomic data analysis, such as BWA, STAR, IGV, VARSCAN, GATK, ANNOVAR, IPA, etc.
  • Knowledge of molecular biology preferred.
  • Experience with statistical, spreadsheet, graphics and word-processing software packages. 

 

Preferred education experience and skills:

  • Experience with methyl-seq and ChIP-seq analysis is a plus.
