Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
- U.S. equivalent Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science with strong background in genomic analysis.
- Experience in advanced DNA-seq and RNA-seq analysis, with innovative thinking. The candidate must be a fast learner and self-motivated.
- Working with clinicians and biologists in the COH cancer center and therefore the candidate should have strong communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of statistical analysis methods and models, mathematical and computational algorithm, such as machine learning algorithms.
- Experience with genomic data integration and data mining
- Proficient in R/Bioconductor programming
- Experience working with NGS data, such as RNA-seq, WGS, and whole exome-seq from Illumina NovaSeq/ miSeq and/or PacBio SMRT sequencing
- Experience with methyl-seq and ChIP-seq data is a plus
- Familiar with at least one programming languages, such as R/Perl/Python/JAVA/C++ with R or Python preferred
- Familiar with Biological databases, such as GEO and TCGA
- Familiar with open source and commercial software tools for genomic data analysis, such as BWA, STAR, IGV, VARSCAN, GATK, ANNOVAR, IPA, etc.
- Knowledge of molecular biology preferred.
- Experience with statistical, spreadsheet, graphics and word-processing software packages.
Preferred education experience and skills:
- Experience with methyl-seq and ChIP-seq analysis is a plus.
