Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Eight years of experience working in research administration, a Contract Research Organization, pharma or biotech industry, a medical or clinical practice arena, or health insurance industry. Within that period, 4+ years of dedicated budget development, negotiation experience, and/or clinical trial financial oversight.

-             Must have working knowledge of oncology clinical trials

-             Must be familiar with HCPCS / CPT codes

-             Must understand what is standard of care or routine care and what is considered research-related in the context of oncology clinical trials

-             Must be familiar with Medicare regulations, guidelines, policies

  • Must have working knowledge of medical terminology specific to oncology clinical trials and general study budgeting techniques and coverage analysis techniques.

Preferred education experience and skills:

  • Graduate degrees may substitute for a portion of overall years of experience in the research administration space and/or clinical arena.
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, ICH Guidelines, FDA and HIPAA regulations, Medicare policy on Routine Costs in Clinical Trials.
  • Knowledge of common budgeting practices and general time/effort allotments.
  • Knowledge of common coverage analysis practices in an oncology setting.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial coverage analysis and/or financial data entry into OnCore Clinical Trial Management System.
  • Experience in drafting coverage analyses, contract development, and/or estimating clinical trials costs.
  • Experience with OnCore CTMS (Financial Console and/or Coverage Analysis Console) or other applicable clinical trials database.
  • Experience with clinical trial financial management (revenue reconciliation and/or sponsor invoicing).
