Data Scientist - Senior Natural Language Processing (NLP)

Minimum requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field. Three (3) years of experience as a Data Scientist, Software Engineer, or related occupation within the healthcare industry. 

Must have experience with: writing algorithms using the Linguamatics I2E application in cancer informatics domain; text mining and clinical Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies: Spacy, NLTK, and Apache cTAKES; managing project development and automation of clinical and genomic data extraction; Big Data technologies: Apache Spark or Hadoop; NoSQL databases: MongoDB or Cassandra; programming languages: Java and Python; Spring-boot framework; workflow management technologies: Apache ManifoldCF (or Lucene), SSRS, Tableau, MLlib, and WEKA; working with automated data extraction from cancer registries, performing data preparation and analysis, and managing multiple clinical data sources; collaborating with clinical or research study and analytics teams to test hypotheses, answer key questions, summarize data, and create reports from unstructured medical documents; enterprise software application development using J2EE and Django application frameworks; clinical databases using SSMS and PostgreSQL; working with a Redhat Linux and CentOS environment; using Docker for containerization of applications and Kubernetes for container orchestration; version control using Git and Bitbucket; using controlled clinical terminologies and ontologies: Unified Medical Language System (UMLS), SNOMED, International Classification of Diseases (ICD), and Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Code (LOINC); statistical modeling and machine learning, or deep learning techniques, data analysis and visualization tools; and Java development, scripting languages, and command line.
