Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data-science, or other closely related field.
- Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
- 4-6 years of experience in the field of database design, implementation, planning, tuning, and monitoring of database systems supporting internally or vendor designed and built systems.
- Having worked as part of a software engineering team building enterprise level software applications is highly desirable.
Required Courses/Training:
SqlServer, Oracle, PostgresSQL, mysql, nosql, Unix, windows.
Windows NT, Word, Excel, MS Project
Preferred education experience and skills:
Knowledge of front-end tools for accessing back-end databases (e.g., Quest Toad, Oracle SQL Developer, AquaFold Aqua Data Studio, etc.).
Experience with database monitoring and performance tools.
Knowledge of Unix scripting tools (AWK, Perl, SED).
Ability to format and partition Unix disks and arrays.
Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, and Informix a plus.
Experience with Oracle’s WebCenter platform and Fusion middleware platform a plus.
Software: Oracle, Solaris, monitoring tools, performance analysis tools.
