Director of Clinical Laboratories (Orange County)

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

• Must have a Master’s Degree in Science, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related healthcare field.
• Must have at least 10 years of laboratory experience.
• Must have at least 5 years of laboratory management experience
• Must have at least 2 years of Epic “Beaker” experience

Required Certification/Licensure:

• Must have a MT (ASCP)/CLS (ASCP)
• Must have a California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License

Preferred education experience and skills:

• Experience in an academic medical center and/or NCI designated cancer center
• Track record of successfully partnering with clinical leadership to lead complex laboratory operations in a matrix driven academic environment.
• Excellent human relations and oral/written communications skills.
• Thorough understanding of clinical and anatomical laboratory processes, functions, workflows, and instrumentation.
• Thorough understanding of fiscal and legal/regulatory aspects of laboratory administration.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware/software programs and laboratory information systems.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission and other external regulatory requirements.
• Microsoft Office Products
• Epic / Epic Beaker - preferred
• Tableau – preferred
