Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • Must have at least 5 years in philanthropy communications, institutional communications, nonprofit communications, donor relations and/or philanthropy.

Preferred education experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, creative writing, philanthropy, science or related field preferred.
  • Experience working in philanthropy communications in a complex medical or academic development setting is preferred. 
  • Strong portfolio of writing samples that demonstrate facility with fundraising projects. Excellent command of language, grammar, spelling, with a good eye for detail.
  • The ability to relate comfortably to leadership, faculty members, administrators, and staff. Experience working in philanthropy communications in a complex medical or academic development setting is preferred. 
  • Development, Academic Medicine, Non-Profit Communications, Campaign Communications
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience working in philanthropy communications in a complex medical or academic development setting is preferred. 
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
