Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree or certification preferred
5 years’ experience may substitute for minimum education requirement
3 years’ experience working as a Disease Registrar or related position in the oncology setting. If education requirements are not met, at least five years’ experience as Disease Registrar or similar position in oncology setting required.
Required Certification/Licensure:
Disease Registry related certification (Such as: SOCRA, ACRP) within 1 year; to be renewed every 3 years
Preferred education experience and skills:
Medical Terminology.
Oncology research, Disease Registry Data Management, Health Information Systems, or related health research field
Experience in database analysis and systems evaluation.
The ability to comprehend what is pertinent data from medical record
Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology.
Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills.
Excellent reading comprehension.
Foster/promote a positive image and professional appearance
Sensitivity to intercultural relations
Access data in computer databases
Compile data
Proofread documents
Research information
Troubleshoot problems
