Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:  

  • Bachelor’s degree Architecture, Construction Management or related field.

  • Equivalent experience may substitute.
  • Demonstrated experience (3-5 years) working as a project manager or similar facilities role in a research and / or healthcare environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of architectural or engineering design and trades. 

  • Knowledge in California healthcare construction and of JCAHO, ADA, and OSHPD standards.

  • Basic knowledge of contract and procurement procedures.

  • Knowledge and experience with varying project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build and Integrated Project Delivery).

  • Project management.
  • Excellent human relation skills.
  • Foster and promote a positive image and professional appearance.

  • Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills.

  • Compose letters/memorandums.
  • Develop procedures.
  • Proofread documents.
  • Interview others.
  • Research information.
  • Use computerized spreadsheets to conduct analyses.

  • Delegate tasks.
  • Compile data.
  • Prepare reports.
  • Document activities.
  • Instruct/train others.
  • Troubleshoot problems.
  • Analyze data.
  • MS Word and Excel.
  • MS Project, required.

Preferred Courses/Training:  

  • Project Management Institution certification.

Required Certification/Licensure:      

  • Current CA driver's license and a good driving record for insurance purposes.

Preferred education experience and skills

  • Healthcare construction management.
  • Ability to work in a morgue or morgue setting and deal with related situations.

  • Course in, inventory, economics.
  • AutoCAD and REVIT (current version).
  • Archibus FM.
  • Experience with Primavera or eBuilder software.
