Patient Care Assistant I - Full-Time
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
- High School Graduate or equivalent plus one of the following:
- Non-licensed graduate of a Registered Nurse or Licenses Vocational (LVN) program; or
- Enrollment in an approved RN program and completion of at least one medical surgical clinical rotation; or
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant; or
- If hired before May 1, 2018, successful completion of a Nursing Assistant Program.
- AHA BLS Certification
- Preferably Certified Nursing Assistant

- Ability to read, write and converse in English
- Answer telephones
- Obtain data from and input data into computer
- Comprehend medical terminology
- Sensitivity to intercultural relations
- Excellent oral/written communications and organizational skills
- Diagnostic equipment
- Medical equipment and devices
- Patient call system
- Atmosphere and environment associated with patient care area
- Contact with patients/families under varied circumstances
- Likely exposure to infectious, radioactive or biohazardous agents
- Likely exposure to housekeeping/cleaning agents/chemicals
- May perform emergency care
- Regularly exposed to unpleasant patient or unit elements
- Subject to situations involving grief processes and related issues
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
- Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 pounds
- Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking
- Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients
- Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling
- Ability to distinguish and identify different colors
